Restoring Resilience

“Like tiny seeds with potent power to push through tough ground and become mighty trees, we hold innate reserves of unimaginable strength. We are resilient.”

― Catherine DeVrye, The Gift of Nature

Resilience is the ability to continue through change. Change is the expression of life’s essential dynamic behavior. Moment by moment. Breath by breath. Over days, weeks, eons. Change, in all of its forms -- transformation, growth, development, shock and release -- is an inherent aspect of life.

What it means for each of us to be resourced is as individual as we are. Still, we all have capacity and capability for resilience as evidenced by being here, now. It is what enables us to survive. Resilience is how we endure.

Somatic and embodiment practices that engage the senses through gentle touch, movement and meditation exercises are a powerful way to increase resilience. These practices help us become intimately aware of the qualities of these features enabling the development of new resources such as a sense of expanded capacity.
